Conceptual Cosplay

I love really clever & well-done conceptual cosplay, such as Disney Princess superheros or genderbent Justice League. What others are there? (They don't have to be tied to a specific fandom; just a real-life costume of a conceptual or non-anthro idea that is done well)

Best answer: The Mary Sue loves this kind of high concept cosplay. They recently did a round up of genderswapped/otherwise interesting Comic Con cosplays that you might like, and the post's tags should be a goldmine.

I think you would enjoy this clever Science Alliance cosplay.

Also the naked sim seems to be increasing in popularity and personally it hits all the right notes for me of simple-seeming but success is in the little details.

Some friends and I are planning Steampunk Lady-Dr-Who's for DragonCon. I'm Christopher Eccleston. We also have a Lady-Dr-Matt-Smith and a Lady-Dr-#5. Someone is clearly doing Tennant but I can't remember who.

Genderbending cosplay is also known as Rule 63.

Response by poster: Any ideas for creative cosplay of things originally not human, maybe even ideas or concepts? I've seen some about, say, the Portal personality cores as human beings as well as the various OS-tans and I really enjoy those.

There's always My Little Pony cosplay. Humanized ponies seem to be a pretty popular form of fanart too.
