Would you please suggest literature that deals with the theory or practice of scoring music and sound to moving images.

I'm a video game and software developer looking for writing that people have done regarding the theory/practice of applying sound and music to film, stage, digital interactive media, animation, commercial media, (concepts behind musical theater, opera, sound signatures are also accepted) etc. Thanks

Best answer: Kathryn Kalinak's Film Music: A Very Short Introduction is a clear theoretical overview. Julie Hubbert's Celluloid Symphonies has lots of great source material.
