Google Chrome Missing Plugin Problems

Why is google chrome giving me an across-the-board "Missing Plug-in" all of a sudden on literally any video I try to play and many pictures as well?

I already went to the google chrome site and it recommended a solution for this - disable something with google chromes streaming or something. It didn't help. What do I do?

Has it been a while since you updated your computer/adobe/flash player? My facebook videos were doing that because I needed to update my adobe/flash player.

Are you on an iphone or a laptop? (I think it makes a difference, but I can't tell you how.)

Did you block plug-ins? (under Options -> Under the Hood -> Content Settings)

Do you have any extensions that try to block Flash?

Flash itself should be up-to-date since Chrome uses a built-in version of Flash. And Chrome should be auto-updating itself. (go to "about:version" in your navigation bar and you should see something starting with 17, like: Google Chrome 17.0.963.83)

Response by poster: wildcrdj - No, I didn't block anything, with the exception of following Chrome's own advice on the Google website and disabling Chrome's own reader. Should I undo this? And no I don't believe anything tries to block Flash... Haven't downloaded any new extensions prior to this starting.

Best answer: This happens to me sometimes, and restarting Chrome fixes it.
