Side dish for fish?

What is a nice side dish to accompany baked cod?

I bought some delicious cod I plan on baking with tomatoes and black olives for a dinner party tonight. What would some easy side dishes be that would compliment fish cooked with these ingredients. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Yellow rice, or an easy risotto.

Thick chunks of potato shallow-fried for a long time and sprinkled with salt.

Brazilian style kale - it's essentially stir fried kale with garlic, and if you like a bit of hotness you can add some red pepper flakes.

Seconding roomthreeseventeen: yellow rice would be delicious, and it would look pretty on the plate with the tomatoes and olives. (I always buy the totally cheapo Carolina rice packets and my husband and I love them.)

Stir fry some fresh chard with onions, garlic and lemon zest. Serve on a bed of plain steamed rice. Or similar to needled above.

Braised spinach. You might add something along the lines of walnuts or almond slivers if you want to add a little crunch, and I recommend cider vinegar for the liquid.

My Mom always served mashed winter squash, which is pretty next to the white fish, and I always liked the flavors together. Roasted squash or sweet potatoes, the kale, roasted brussel sprouts, would all be tasty.

Grilled asparagus. I recently had grilled fish with asparagus and a green salad at a small dinner party. It was great. I think it will be great with baked fish also.

Chickpeas simmered in garlic, cumin, coriander and perhaps tomatoes. If you want to get fancy, caramelize an onion beforehand, and/or use chicken broth.

I have a recipe for baked cod with cherry tomatoes. black olives, small red bliss potatoes (cut in half) or fingerling potatoes, garlic and rosemary. It is an easy meal in itself without a side dish necessary, other than perhaps a salad. And as an added benefit it only requires one rimmed baking pan so clean-up is also a breeze.
