Subtitles in Handbrake

How do I get subtitles to work with handbrake?
I have a bunch of DVDs that I want to encode with their subtitles using Handbrake. Whenever I try to do this, the options in the subtitles menu are either "none" or "autoselect". It never encodes the subtitles when I select "autoselect" but the "forced subtitles only" options sometimes works.
I can do this just fine using Auto GK but find that Handbrake gives better results.
I am using windows 7.

Response by poster: AAAHHH!. I was just selecting the folder not the track. When I select the correct track, the english option appears in the subtitles menu. cheers kuanes.
