chiang mai to Krabi: what flights options?? air asia to phuket? discover with Thai airways? other?

Thailand travel planning: trying to get from chiang mai to krabi to Denapasar,Bali as effectively as possible.
So far I found these options:
use Air Asia to phuket from chiang mai and take a cab for a couple hours to krabi. (to and and back)
Use discover thailand fares from thai airways, but they dont have direct flight to krabi, so travel takes like almost the entire day :(
Suggestions? travel time would be cnx to krabi 02/22 and krabi to bali 02/25.
Chiang Mai to Krabi:
Fastest, but very expensive option (฿21k, 3:55 total) -
Chiang Mai (CNX) to Bangkok (BKK) - Wed, Feb 22
Bangkok Airways 218 Dep: 2:15pm Arr: 3:35pm 1h 20m
Layover in BKK 1h 15m
Bangkok (BKK) to Krabi (KBV) - Wed, Feb 22
Thai Airways 249 Dep: 4:50pm Arr: 6:10pm 1h 20m
1/3rd the price, but just over six hours of travel time -
Chiang Mai (CNX) to Bangkok (BKK) - Wed, Feb 22
Bangkok Airways 222 Dep: 6:55am Arr: 8:15am 1h 20m
Layover in BKK 2h 0m
Bangkok (BKK) to Koh Samui (USM) - Wed, Feb 22
Bangkok Airways 265 Dep: 10:15am Arr: 11:45am 1h 30m
Stop in USM 0h 30m
Koh Samui (USM) to Krabi (KBV) - Wed, Feb 22
Bangkok Airways 265 Dep: 12:15pm Arr: 1:10pm 0h 55m
And now having looked at Air Asia's price of ฿1941 (plus all the bull shit charges they add in), they are by far the cheapest, and this is the option I'd use if time permitted.
Krabi to Denpasar:
If you can leave on the 26th, Air Asia's flight to Bali is almost free - just over 50 USD + the bull shit. Thai Airways might cost you 10x that on the 25th.

I went with:
airasia on the 21st late night to phuket
and air asia ont he 26th early mornig from phuket..
Now I need to figure where to stay to not drown in the crowds and bars.. (hate that)
