Need a video monitor for my stroke ridden father

The title says it all, mostly. Trying to find something under a hundred, hopefully under $50. It is very hard to get my father up and about at times if it is not for an hour at a time. Sometimes, you just want to include him. The other day we set off fireworks for no more then five minutes, he is very fickle and we could not get him up. I wanted to show him a large pile of wood we had recently come across, it is too difficult for him to get there. I am a college student looking for a solution that is not too costly, I had hoped to get it for Christmas. I have tried to research and find something, if someone has seem something, I would highly appreciate it.

Need some more details - are you looking for a video display for video? static pictures? both? what will the source of these videos or pictures be (internet? mem card?)

My first guess would be to get one of those digital picture frames - eBay has a plethora for cheap.

Just to be clear: it's not that you wish to monitor your father (as you might monitor a baby), but rather that you wish to allow him to remotely view events at which you would carry or deploy a camera of some kind, yes?

Assuming that's the case, what kind of range are you looking for? How far from his bed was this interesting pile of wood that you stumbled upon? You want sound and video, I assume... is night vision a desirable feature?

Do you have a smart phone with a camera? Does your father have a computer near his bed? Is he comfortable using Skype, etc? Is there WiFi on the property? I could do this at my house with Facetime on my iPhone.

Do you need something to help you keep an eye on him when you are out of his general vicinity, or something to show him all of these neat things you want him to see?

Either way, I think Craigslist may be your best bet with regard to your price range. We got our (baby) video monitor off CL for I think $60. Ymmv of course.
