Closest ski resort to NYC that is open this weekend?

I'm in New York City. I want to go skiing this thanksgiving weekend. None of the nearby resorts seem to be open (yet). What is my closest option? I'm willing to take a very long drive, but I'd like to avoid flying on thanksgiving. Thanks!

Best answer: Bellayre Mountain is tentatively scheduled to open on the 25th. That's about 3-4 hours' drive up to the Catskills.

Lake Placid is a go. Five hours and a bit.

Killington was open last weekend, and I am sure it will be open this one as well.

Response by poster: Looks like snow making is going on full force at Bellayre, according to their website. I am still skeptical they'll be able to open this weekend, but maybe the gods of winter will smile favorably. Barring that, I guess a drive to Vermont may be in store. Thank you guys!
