Beyond Thievery Corporation?

My musical odyssey continues. Deep into Thievery Corporation currently. Who else would I like?

Played to death. Massive Attack. Portishead. Hooverphonic. Moby. Sneaker Pimps and the rest of the Bristol Sound. Love that down tempo headphonaut sound of Thievery Corp....without getting too dangerously close to Muzak® where else should I explore? Take me to the next level.

Off the top of my head: Bonobo, The Dining Rooms, U.N.K.L.E., Jel.

I'll most likely dig up a few more downtempo suggestions as soon as I commit to posting this.

Your next stop is Federico Aubele. Thunderball, maybe? Zero 7 are further away from the Outernational sound, but are still fairly chill, so you may also dig. Nicola Conte isn't quite as laid back as Thievery, but you'll probably like the bossa nova sound.

The Cinematic Orchestra is pretty cool, too.

Check out the Back To Mine Mix Series, and also the Cafe Del Mar series by Jose Padilla.

Portishead, Air, Massive Attack and Psychonauts all did trip-hop mixes for the Essential Mix as well, which can all be found skimming through this list or essential mixes on soundcloud.

I would not have immediately suggested Amon Tobin as a followup to Thievery Corporation, but if you like him, try Art of Noise as well.

Other recommended artists that I enjoy (I'm also really into Thievery Corporation right now): Air, Delerium, the XX, Royksopp, Morcheeba, Portishead, Rasputina, Four Tet.

My suggestions are...

Baby Mammoth
The Cinematic Orchestra
Dust Galaxy..(which is Rob Garza from Theivery Corp, just for listening within their extended realm)
Luz Mob (more ska-like, but they keep the horns section a priority)

Also, Fila Brazillia did a mix called Another Late Night which is pretty nifty.

Nedry, Lunascape, Tricky, Martina Topley Bird, Archive, Zero 7, Lamb.

Some older Jamaican dub somehow fits.. to me. Like King Tubby, King Jammy or some others. I may be mistaken but Massive Attack and the Bristol types have some dub roots.

Four Tet, Fila Brazilla (album: Power Clown), Death in Vegas, Burial, DJ Shadow, I Monster, Goldfrapp, Gotan Project, Transglobal Underground, Aphex Twin

Amon Tobin (if you're ok with the chaos and speed)

!!! (aka Chk Chk Chk. if you can bear the speed. album: Myth Takes), Don Caballero, 69daysofstatic, Mogwai

Tinariwen (just in the vibe and Thievery Corp often gets quite international, so..)
