Post-punk Leonard Cohen?

Calling all indie music geeks... I need help identifying a band. iPhone update nuked all the downloaded music in my Rhapsody app. I was listening to a band that I liked a lot. Singer had sort of baritone, with interesting lyrics. Imagine a post-punk, slightly less-lackadaisical Leonard Cohen. Pretty sure record is relatively recent and band name has the word 'Future' in it. Any ideas?
The Futureheads? (Probably best known for their Hounds Of Love cover)
They don't really fit that well, but they're the only recent, even slightly post-punk band I can think of with the word Future in the title.
Anything else to go on? Any remembered lyrics?

Response by poster: Nope. Definitely not the Magnetic Fields, more post-punk-y. Little more angry. Thanks though!

Best answer: I don't know your band but I suggest you go on last.fm. Here is a simple search for the word "future" in "artist name": http://www.last.fm/search?q=future&type=artist
The artist/band list is quite exhaustive and you often can listen to samples of music, and then there are descriptions and comparisons between similar artists. Hopefully you can stumble on the right band or discriminate the search some more until you can find it.
Best of luck!

Response by poster: Not The Futures or Futureheads. I think the band only has one record and came out no later than last year. Thanks again.

Response by poster: GREAT suggestion CelebrenIthil! The band is Future Islands, and it was the sixth result on last.FM. It didn't even register in the list of bands I searched a few other places. Thanks everybody.
Also, I now realize my association w/ Leonard Cohen was a bit of a stretch. I don't know why I thought it was more baritone than it was... Stupid brain.

That's not baritone or post punk at all.

I was going to marry the two veins in this thread and suggest the Future Bible Heroes-- a side project of the lead guy from the Magnetic Fields. Glad you found the one you were looking for though.

Reminds me of a noise-pop version of The Clash's "Lost In The Supermarket."
