Cheap, rustic cabins in the UP?

My wife, daughter (3) and I are going to drive up to the UP for a few days later this month, and I'm wondering if anyone can point us in the direction of cheap, rustic cabins for rent. Cheap here is probably $40-60 per night. In Maine last summer, we camped near Freeport but after seeing the Idyll Motor Court just outside town, we were wishing we had thought to look for something like that first.

Does anyone know of something similar in the UP? We'll be driving from the Green Bay area, so the whole peninsula is fair game. Thanks!

I assume that UP means Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but it's not clear from the post...

Response by poster: Yes, sorry - the Upper Peninsula!

For rustic cabins in the Yoop, it doesn't get any better than "The Porkies" i.e. Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. I've both rented cabins and backpacked there and the Porkies are the Best in the Midwest. Cabins on inland lakes include canoes.

However, looking at your link to Idyll Motor Court, our definitions of rustic may differ considerably.

Read the descriptions carefully before deciding.

We stayed in Au Train, which is centrally located between Munising and Marquette. The Autrain River flows into Lake Superior making the lake water warm enough to swim in.

I will keep looking for the place we stayed, but here's an inexpensive rental..
