Your favorite smooth and funky 90s R&B jams

What are your favorite smooth and funky 90s R&B jams?

In the 90s I was really into hip hop and hated anything smooth with singing on it. Now I hear something like Blackstreet's No Diggity, Horace Browns Taste Your Love, or anything by Tony! Toni! Toné! and it makes me feel very happy/romantic. I missed out on this whole era of sweet tunes. Remind me of the hits that were good, and especially the deep cuts!

Yes, 1990s only.

[[No Keith Sweat or TLC please.]]

Response by poster: Looking for specific jams, particularly mid-tempo ones rather than slow grinds or dance tracks. Thanks!

Found this link -- a couple that stand out to me are "No Ordinary Love" by Sade and "Close to You" by Maxi Priest.

Best answer: Best ever: All My Life by K-Ci and Jo Jo. My summer camp crush sang this to me on the bus on our last day. For the rest of the summer I cried whenever it came on the radio. Luckily I managed to work through the angst by the time school started; now it's on my iPod and just makes me happy, happy.

How has Color Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up not been mentioned? It's, like, the smoothest and funkiest of 90s R&B jamz.

Faith Evans - You Used to Love Me

112 - Missing You

2nding the Mariah/ODB 'Fantasy' remix - that song is the jam.

I know you said no TLC, but when was the last time you listened to 'Creep'? It came back into my rotation via 'The Wackness' soundtrack and I forgot how amazing that song was. It has that perfect 90s hard hip-hop beat.

Best answer: I generally agreed with you about hip hop vs R&B back in the day, but D'Angelo's Voodoo album stuck out to me even back then. The big hit Untitled (How Does It Feel?), which was made into the infamous half-nude video, is probably too slow for this request. But Devil's Pie is good too.
