Name of an old Vinyl Cafe story about a boy heading off to university?

Stuart McLean, Vinyl Cafe: Looking for the name of one of his stories about a teenager who's just graduated high school in a small town and at the end leaves with all his stuff packed in a car on his way to university.
He spends one last summer in his hometown, kicking around with his best friend. I think that his parents give him a junky old car to drive to university. This isn't a Dave and Morley story and it isn't funny. It's nice and quiet and poignant. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the story though. It's not new. I remember reading it when I was in university at least ten years ago. Any help?
