Synching "likes" between facebook and website posts

There are two sets of FB "likes" that I would like to be synched; one, the likes on the website's posts, and the other, the likes I get when I link to those posts on Facebook. 21 people like my latest post on my website, but only one person has liked the link I put about the post on facebook. Can I get the two to add together with some automatic gizmo? Thanks mefi!

In my mind liking a post and liking a link to a post are two different things and I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable with a gizmo that did what you're asking. "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" and all that.

Luckily for you, facebook is full of features that I'm not entirely comfortable with, so there probably is a way to do this.

I think what you need to be doing is crossposting posts from your website onto a facebook "page" created for your site. Right now your personal page is linking to your personal, outside the FB ecosystem website. I think there are ways to do this with software like wordpress. I know nothing else about how to go about setting it up correctly.

I think the problem is that on the FB side these are considered to be two different sets of likes. I haven't heard of anything that unifies them, perhaps there's a metrics service out there who handles this, though. If so, it's likely not free.

Response by poster: Yeah, I can't find anything either. Not to worry, it was just a thought.
