Stop Obama

I have repeatedly unsubscribed from the Obama campaign/OFA text message list, and yet the texts keep coming. How can I actually get them to stop?

Looking through my chat history with them (62262), they say to reply "STOP", but I did that 3 times to no avail. I also tried "UNSUBSCRIBE", which appeared to work.

Have you received the unsubscribe confirmation text? "You will no longer receive updates from Organizing for America..."

Try looking for a "Contact Us" page on the related web site, and get the phone number or email of someone in the public relations office. Contact them and politely, but firmly, explain your situation. This may not be the same person who handles their text message list, but they would a) be an "insider" enough to know who to ask, and b) has a vested interest in keeping the public happy. Acknowledge that they may not run the list keeping, but say that you're not sure who else to contact. Ask that they contact you with a follow-up to confirm that your name got off the list. If they don't contact you within a few weeks, or you get another text, contact them again, politely-but-firmly.

Polite-but-firm is the way to go.

I got these texts too until I texted back with a polite disagreement regarding one of the president's policies. Voila! Removed from the list. Depressing, I know.

Just found this on the OFA "Contact Us" website:

"For any other questions or concerns, email ofainfo@dnc.org or call (866) 495-2004."

I'd try calling.

I replied with an emphatic "F--- YOU" during the health care debate, same result.

Is it possible you gave them a google voice number that doesn't match your cell number?

Response by poster: Only signed up with one number, got the unsubscribe confirmation multiple times to no avail. Now trying a reply of "FUCK YOU" and one of "Obama should support gay marriage." If that doesn't work I guess I'll call. Thanks.
