The gay baby-adopting policeman couple Officers Carter and Taylor in Arrested Development's Hand to God episode were as lulzy as the rest of the show, but not played for any more lulz than anyone else. posted by jessamyn at 8:41 PM on February 10, 2011 [1 favorite]

I don't recall which role/actor, and I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing you're after, but the film Biloxi Blues had a scene in Army basic training where two male recruits were caught having sex, and later one was taken into custody for it. posted by Burhanistan at 8:51 PM on February 10, 2011

In Peckinpah's Cross of Iron there's a scene where Stransky, the sadist CO first flirts with, then blackmails Treibig, one of his junior officers with his own homosexuality.
And "camp" roles played for ambiguous queer comedy, including inevitable drag, were a central staple of post-war British military comedy, along with the other standard stereotypes (upper class boor officers, shouting-bullying-moustached Sergeants-Major, bald glasses-wearing boffins, business-shrewd Jews, token blacks/Indians, Frenchy French, slapstick Nazis, and so on). It Ain't Half Hot Here Mum, Dads Army and 'Allo 'Allo are classics of the genre, all with effeminate/queer/camp roles. posted by Fiasco da Gama at 9:41 PM on February 10, 2011
