In search of a multiplayer PS3 FPS

Can you recommend multiplayer co-op shooter games for PS3?

I'm looking for a first-person shooter with a military theme that can be played in a local co-op story/campaign mode. If I could play campaign mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 or 2 or Black Ops in 2 player split-screen co-op campaign mode, that would be ideal.

Can the hive mind come up with suggestions for me?

I don't own a PS3, but here's a directory of co-op games for the PS3.

Best answer: do you know about "Special-Ops" mode for MW2? It's not a linear campaign, but it is a collection of missions (some from the 1-player campaign) that you can do cooperatively (or alone). It's really fun. You can play them split screen local or online.

Killzone 3 comes out on the 22nd, and looks amazing. Split screen coop video here.

Resistance 2, if I recall correctly, had co-op split screen, with the ability to have both players online.

Best answer: Alas, one can't play the campaign in MW2 cooperatively, but man, Spec Ops? Is amazing. It's been the primary mode of entertainment in my household for the past year or so. My favorite mission is Sniper Fi, which is fairly easy, followed by Homeland Security, which is decidedly not easy. We like it so much we haven't even tried Black Ops yet, it's sitting right there on the shelf feeling lonely.

Response by poster: Anything military-themed other than COD:MW2?

Best answer: Call of Duty: World at War has split-screen campaign multiplayer, and it's pretty great. It's not that long though, I think we did it in one or two evenings.
