Free Wordpress domain?

I would like to start a simple blog/website using WordPress, but ideally I don't want to pay for a domain. What are some free domains I can use? Preferably ad-free, preferably unlimited upload, but I know beggars can't be choosers.

Best answer: wordpress.com?

I was also going to say wordpress.com. It's not ad-free but doesn't have a lot of ads, and they give you 3G of storage.

Response by poster: Ok, got it. I was tricked by the sign-up page into thinking I needed to pay $17 a year, but I guess I don't. Thanks!

No, just for getting your own domain name. Your blog will be tjenks.wordpress.com. If you're cool with that then you're good to go.

But for anything free you're going to have a subdomain like that. Unless it's hostingsite.com/tjenks.

You're not going to get a top level domain for free unless you find someone nice to pay for it for you.
