Songs with swearing

Which songs/albums (preferably otherwise good) feature extreme amounts of cussing and swearing?

It's often said that rap, in particular, features a lot of swearing, but I find little of it in my collection, with Dr. Dre's "Bitches Ain't Shit" being the only song that I'd say has a 'lot' of cussing. What other songs feature a lot of cussing? I'm having no luck finding any. I only ever found one song with the c-word too.. the Libertine's "What a Waster". Others?

Korn's "K@#%!" is pretty much all swearing.

First one I thought of was Useless Man by Minty, from DJ Keoki's Inevitable Alen Nation album.

Dub Narcotic Sound System - Fuck Shit Up

And there's a band called Anal Cunt, but I haven't heard their stuff. Diamanda Galas has a song called "Cunt". Haven't heard it either but I'd be surprised if you can make out any lyrics.

Extreme cussing and swearing, you say? South Park, "Uncle Fucka."

"I Don't Care About You (Fuck You)" by Fear has plenty of "Fuck you"s in it. The Blatz cover is superior, though.

Gaaah. Just had a big list, but my browser got screwy. I'll try to recreate it.

From the 1990 Cold Chillin' comp "2 Nasty 4 Radio":
- Big Daddy Kane & Rudy Ray Moore, "Big Daddy Vs Dolemite"
- Kool G Rap & DJ Polo, "Talk Like Sex" (very nasty)
- Everlast, "Fuck Everyone"

- anything by Redd Foxx, Rudy Ray Moore, Moms Mabley, all of whom did record songs.
- BLOWFLY!!! Anything and everything by Blowfly, the dirtiest motherfucker there is or will ever be, and an important and unheralded godfather of rap music.
- Much of the work of NWA graduates: almost all of Eazy-E's first solo album "Eazy Duz It"; some of Dre's stuff, as you mention; and at least Ice Cube's first 2 or 3 records -- all of these make heavy use of our friend the F word.
- Snoop (Doggy) Dogg cusses a lot on "Doggystyle" -- much of it is pretty misogynistic.

In other genres:
- I don't know his stuff very well, but I'd be surprised if Kinky Friedman didn't come through for you
- Do Raymond and Peter count as a musical group? Now, there's some swearing.
- Nashville Pussy gets pretty lewd, especially on their very great first album, "Let Them Eat Pussy"
- Tenacious D, of course. "Fuck Her Gently" comes immediately to mind.

I'll think some more on this.

If the, uh, n-word counts, there are some additional rap songs I could point to.

In rock, there's Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog" and Soundgarden's "Big Dumb Sex," among others.

Also, Body Count's album "Cop Killer" is extremely graphic.

Oh, and, "Intro," the first cut on Black Sheep's excellent album "A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing," is a pretty funny satire of curse-dependent rappers, and it uses plenty of cussin' itself. Great, great record.

Millie Jackson's Fuck you symphony.
Anything by Nate Dogg...(note, he has an awesome voice and usually sings back up for rap artists but he's also released an album, Music and Me, which is fucking brilliant!)

The boys in Ween curse pretty freely. See "Blarney Stone" from "The Mollusk," "l.m.l.y.p." (which is - partly - a Prince cover) from "God Ween Satan - The Oneness" ... and I'm sure there are more, but they're not coming to me right now. Anyway, go listen to Ween. They're wonderful.

The two things that come to mind are Killdozer's cover of some song called, I think, "You're Unbelievable," which is called something like "You're Motherfucking Unbelievable." Also, any song by the band Butt Trumpet.

Propaghandi - and their album "How to Clean Everything" is profane, but I hold it sacred. Lots of great outbursts like:

in "Middle Finger Response "
"All your novel themes that keep you amused on your way to The canadian, flag-waving-aryan, mother f***ng, c*ck sucking dream. Oh yeah!"

or in songs like

"STICK THE F***ING FLAG UP YOUR G*DDAMN AS*, YOU SONOFABITCH (Not to be gender-specific, of course!)"
, "HAILLIE SELLASSE, UP YOR ASS" or "FUCK MACHINE".

"I Got Cash" by Brooklyn Funk Essentials. Not an insane amount of swearing (there's a fair bit though), but sung/spoken by a VERY angry, sarcastic man who really means that shit, which makes it something everyone should listen to. Plus it's funky as hell.

"Get Off Your Ass And Jam" by Funkadelic, which is 2 1/2 minutes of nothing but:

Shit! Goddamn! Get off your ass and jam!

Not as extreme as some other examples, but I appreciate that the swear:not-swear ratio is almost even. George Clinton for poet laureate!

Seconding The Frogs. Incredibly vulgar and hilarious stuff, e.g., "Dead Pussy in the Road with Mother's Name on Top," and "Who's Sucking on Grandpa's Balls Since Grandma Ain't Home Tonight?"

The true bonus is that they're a really great band.

If you count comedy albums you would be hard pressed to find a more repulsive album than the one by Pretty Paul Parsons. He has one joke about eating the corn from someone's colostomy bag and another that begins, "So, I was fuckin' this little retarded boy in the mouth..."

Great Sweary Tracks I Have Loved:

Goofy's Concern - Butthole Surfers
Plaistow Patricia - Ian Dury and the Blockheads. Contains the timeless, parent-delighting intro of "ARS-OLES, BAR-STARDS, FA-CKIN' CAHNTS AND PRICKS!"
Battleflag - Lo Fidelity All Stars. Fine repeated use of the oedipal noun, there.
Stagger Lee - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Possibly my favourite. And I appreciate the opportunity to reproduce a small sample of the lyrics here. Thank you so much.

"I'll stay here till Billy comes in, till time comes to pass
And furthermore I'll fuck Billy Dilly in his motherfucking ass"
Said Stagger Lee
"I'm a bad motherfucker, don't you know
And I'll crawl over fifty good pussies just to get one fat boy's asshole"

Ahh, the don't write 'em like that anymore.

Looking through my meager music collection:

Try Too Short's remake of (Ant Banks'?) "I Need a Freak" - after the bridge, he changes it too "I Need a Bitch" etc. etc.
I have this on "In Tha Beginning...there was rap", from Priority Records.

Afro Man - Colt 45 (many many fucks)

Lil' Jon (YEEEEEAAAHH!! WHAT?!) (sorry) and the Eastside Boyz - Bia Bia (partly because it's a few phrases repeated ad infinitum, plus some nasty girl called Chyna White, plus Too Short again.) Ludacris' is the cleanest verse.

But - Ludacris and Project Pat's "Dis Bitch, This Ho" is pretty dirty - mostly from PP - maybe his other stuff is, too?

Lil' Kim - probably most anything - she doesn't necessarily 'swear' a lot, but she gets pretty nasty. (See How Many Licks)

Fabolus & Nate Dogg - I Can't Deny It

Lil' Wayne - the two songs I have, about every third word in the chorus is 'nigga', with some other interspersed.

DMX - mostly just angry, but some with quite a bit of swearing.

Peaches - I Don't Give a Fuck
Shellac - Prayer to God
Screeching Weasel - I Wanna Fuck
Machine Gun Fellatio - Let Me Be Your Dirty Fuckin' Whore

Those are my favorites, but I somehow have 53 songs with the word "fuck" in the title in itunes. I must be more of a dirty, foul-minded young lady than I thought.

If you're after more than just cursing, but a higher-level profanity in addition, check out Lords of Acid, one of the most obscene bands I've ever heard.

Anthrax's Starting Up a Posse (lyrics) came out around the same time they released Bring the Noise with Public Enemy. The song is about censorship and includes the following chorus:

Shit, fuck, satan, death, sex drugs, rape
These seven words you're trying to take
Shit, fuck, satan, death, sex, drugs, rape
Right or wrong it's our choice to make
America the beautiful, Land of the free
Don't change the words to land of Hypocrisy

They also say clever things such as cunty cunty cunty cunt and you're a douche. It was on the album Attack of the Killer Bs.

Tool - Jerk Off, Swamp Song, and Message to Harry Manback
System of a Down - Fuck the System

I really can't think of a band that cusses more articulately than Tool does. Profanity comes across as a means to an end - pulling the listener emotionally closed to the song. It's an expressions of pure rage or frustration rather than slang substituting good English.

System of a Down is good for almost the exact opposite reason, using everyday slang to relay advanced political messages about everything from the Armenian genocide to media ownership through music.

David Allen Coe - The Rodeo Song
Lil' Kim - Eat My Pussy Right
Lords of Acid - Pussy Round
NWA - Fuck Tha Police
Terrance and Phillip - Uncle Fucka

You can hear them here.

Lords of Acid is more like that dirty song that you don't know but liked after watching the girl on the pole dance to it. I've added four more of their songs.

Response by poster: Ah, I've recalled another one from my collection. The Horrorist - One Night in New York City.

It features a story about a girl going out and going partying, then getting drugged and raped, then has, in an extremely fierce tone, "He fucked her all night" repeated about a hundred times over a thumping beat. Quite creepy actually.

As a child of the late eighties / early nineties, I was under the impression that the foulest album of all time was 2 Live Crew's As Nasty As They Wanna Be.
posted by Clay201 at 11:11 AM on April 10, 2005

I'd second most of what's above, especially Propaghandi's "How to Clean Everything", Lords of Acid's "Lust", and NWA's "Straight out of Compton" as albums. 2 Live Crew's "As Nasty as They Want to Be" is profane, but... *meh*.

As far as singles go...

Adam Sandler's "At a Medium Pace" and Tenacious D's "Fuck her Gently" are top of the pops, and would make either a great 1-2 punch on a mixtape or would bookend this entire collection well.

As far as profane, rap, and the diss go... it's very tough to top Ice Cube's "No Vaseline". There's plenty of Nas<->Jay-Z and Biggie<->2pac to be enjoyed as well...
