Film/TV Filming Locations Identification
December 14, 2010 2:26 PM   Subscribe

I have some screenshots from a television show, and I would like to post them somewhere so that someone could identify the specific filming location for me (they weren't shot on a set, but on location; the Angeles National Forest area in So. California specifically). I've tried doing this in some Flickr groups but it's been fruitless. Any suggestions of some sites or online communities that could help me out? Thanks in advance!

Unless you have a whole bunch of them, this is something I'd actually bring right here to AskMe.

Since they're in a particular park, perhaps find discussion boards about hiking and other activities in that park? You could be looking for people who frequent that specific park, instead of photographers in general.

filthy light thief's idea is good. Since you already know the general location, asking MeFites to pinpoint the specific locations on a map of the Angeles National Forest is going to be a total shot in the dark.

If it's a popular scene and angle then try cropping out the people and pass the image over to tineye. I've had some success with that approach.

I'll check out tineye and park boards, thanks for the advice.

If I post the image links, should I do it here or submit it as a separate thread?

Definitely do it here, not a separate thread.

Yes, do it here!

While it's slightly peripheral, this could be a job for the L.A. photo history geeks at Skyscraper City. See this tread in particular.
