Book for a Giants fan

Giants book?

A colleague is a huge S.F. Giants fan, and I was thinking I might get him something Giants-related for Christmas. This is not a person who would have any use for memorabilia, but a book about or related to the Giants (the S.F. version or the N.Y. version) or about some interesting person connected with the Giants might go over well.

Any suggestions?

Best answer: Willie Mays: The Life, The Legend got excellent reviews. I haven't read it, though.

I really enjoyed Jon Miller's Confessions of a Baseball Purist. Miller was the voice of the Orioles when I was a kid in Maryland, but he grew up in SF and now calls Giants games on the radio. The book, as I recall, has lots of great material about rooting for the Giants in the '60s.

Any SF Giants fan who has waited as long as they have for a Championship would probably appreciate this book: San Francisco Giants Torture to Rapture 2010 World Series Champions.
