Play audio webfiles on remote speakers, help?

How do I play online audio files on remote speakers? Platform: OS X, Browser: Firefox.

Trying to listen to non-downloadable podcasts (and other audio files) off the web. I can listen to them off Firefox, through my laptop speakers just fine. I can also listen to downloadable podcasts or audio files on my itunes, and select our remote speakers in the living room, and have them play just fine.

The big question....how do I listen to non-downloadable podcasts off the web via Firefox and have them play through my remote speakers? I see no option on Firefox to play web files through remote speakers.

Is there a way to do this? Thank you, folks.

Response by poster: Note: if I go through the sound in my system preferences, my computer doesn't see the remote speakers at all. I believe it's all done through out Airport, which my S.O. set up. He can't figure out the answer to my question either.

You can do this with Airfoil, which lets any app (not just iTunes) stream to your remote speakers. $25.

I believe VLC will play through an Airport Express in the latest versions (although I haven't tried it myself). It you can configure FF to pass the audio files to VLC, it may work for you as a free alternative to Airfoil (which is probably the better way to do it).

I take it you have an AirPort Express if you're already streaming iTunes audio content to remote speakers. I second pmdboi's Airfoil suggestion. It's unobtrusive, comprehensive software, and there's a generous trail period.

I was going to second AirFoil. This is exactly what it's for.
