Setting up wireless security?

How do I set up wireless security on my new Netgear modem?

I have no idea what I'm doing. Please assume you are speaking to someone who knows nothing about computers.

I plugged in my new Netgear Wireless-N 150 Modem Router. I turned on the airport in my Macbook and connected to it. Working perfectly.

The instructions that came with the modem say that the CD won't run the setup wizard on Macs. Okay, so I follow their instructions by typing in http://routerlogin.net. I then enter the Router User Name and Password as "admin" and "password" as instructed to get to the setup wizard so I can secure the connection and...... and the screen is telling me that is incorrect and I can't go any further.

Really need to password protect this internet connection, please help?

Try connecting your computer to the router with a cable to make sure you're trying to log in to your router, and not the router of a neighbour who never bothered to change the default SSID.

Make sure Capslock is off when you enter "admin" and "password".

If these still don't work, you can reset your router to the defaults ("admin" and "password") by:

1. Use a sharp object such as a pen or a paper clip to press and hold the restore factory settings
button, located on the rear panel of the router, for about 5 seconds, until the Power light begins
to blink (#5 here).
2. Release the restore factory settings button, and wait for the router to restart, and for the Power
light to stop blinking and become solid green.

The reset did it. All secure. Many thanks!
