Why can't I get my Macbook to interface with my Roland piano?

I can't seem to get the MIDI to work on my keyboard/computer. Please hope me.

I recently bought a Roland RD-700. I want to interface it with my macbook so I can use it for quick notation and transcription in Finale, as well as be able to record myself playing via USB.

I downloaded this driver. I installed it and still my mac doesn't seem to recognize the Roland.

What settings am I missing here? Or is this not the driver I'm looking for? I feel like the problem must be something silly I'm just missing, but I'm stumped.

Relevant information:

Roland RD 700sx
Macbook, OSX 10.5.8
Finale 2009

Can the hive mind help me to get this working? Thank you all in advance!

Do you see the Roland in Audio / MIDI setup?

You may need to go in to Finale and explicitly turn on the RD-700. Logic seems to pick up new MIDI devices automagically, but most other MIDI software seems to want you to explicitly allow each new device.

How do you like the sound and feel of your RD-700?

Yeah, I see it in the audio/midi set-up, and when I test it, it seems to work. I can't seem to find where in Finale to change the midi setting.

I love my RD-700. Fantastic sound and feel.

Ok, I think I sort of have it working now. I hadn't set "receive midi sync" to the Roland. Duh me. Oh well. Thanks!
