Looking for music recommendations

I am looking for more music like this.
That's pretty much it. I am looking for music with a kind of ambient, dark, broody, peaceful quality to it. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Best answer: John Murphy's scores to Sunshine and 28 Days/Weeks Later
Lustmord
Monolake
Coil presents Black Light District
Emancipator
The Orb (esp. Orbus Terrarum)
Brian Tyler's excellent, excellent score to The Killing Room (it's a string score, however)
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works II
Dead Voices On Air - Piss Frond
Nurse With Wound - the tracks "Simple Headphone Mind" and "She and Me Fall Together in Free Death"

Best answer: sounds like you might dig Oneohtrix Point Never. his newest album, Returnals, is great great great.
there's lots of great artists doing music like this these days. others that come to mind are Caboladies, Emeralds, Stellar Om Source.
keith fullerton whitman (better known for the breakcore-style electronica he records as Hrvatski) has done some great droney ambient albums, like Playthroughs, that sort of foreshadowed the wave of synth-revival drone acts of the past couple years.

Best answer: Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack
2nding Selected Ambient Works '85-'97 - it's just like the Marathon track only with a beat.
Mick Turner, here's Angel #1 (from Blue Trees, which is great, but if you can track down the 7 Angels EP that's the one to hear. ) Guitar music, but follows that same sway without a beat.

Best answer: The record labels Type Records, and Somnia are good places to start. I think you can listen to the entirety of Somnia's catalogue on their site.

Best answer: Kompakt's yearly Pop Ambient compilations are well worth checking out for interesting ambient tracks. They tend to be slightly more detroity techy in feel than droney washes, but I reckon the overall atmosphere hits the mark for you.
