Roussel Flesch: Russian/Hungarian Meat Mystery

My dad remembers his mother making him a dish he loved as a child in the 1930s called "roussel flesch." What is it?
That's his guess at the spelling, but Google returns nothing. His mother was Russian/Hungarian Jewish but grew up outside Boston. It was meat-based. I'd very much like to make it for him if anyone knows what it is.

Superlibby's seems like the most probable answer. Rössel (Spelled Roussel in the English character set) is also Middle German for "Horse", so take that as you will.

That has to be it. It wouldn't surprise me if it was originally made with horsemeat, but I think I'll stick to beef for now! Thanks so much, he's going to love it.
