Rockabilly... with a twist?

I really like Rob the Prez-O-Dent by That Handsome Devil... help me find more in that vein?

I'm not entirely sure what to search under - I've tried rockabilly, and get stuff that's vastly different from that song... and I've tried Pandora stations based off of "That Handsome Devil" and "Rob the Prez-O-Dent"... but nothing turns up the sound I'm looking for. As best as I can analyze - here's what I like about the song: The offbeat rhythm is awesome, I really like the guitar melody and patterns, and the singing style is just .. fun. So, any suggestions?

Have you tried using Psychobilly as a search term? That might be specific enough to get you what you want.

In terms of vocals, the first time I heard this song I thought it was Rob Zombie. I'm not super familiar with his work, but his early stuff might be closer to what you like.

The Reverend Horton Heat does have a lot of more traditional rockabilly, but their earlier albums are more psychobilly, especially Liquor in the Front.

If these don't help, let me know & I'll keep thinking on it. It used to be one of my favorite genres, but I'm a little rusty these days. And I love this song, too! I get mocked for wanting to play it on Rock Band all the time :)

Some of what I'm suggesting might be too dark,* but:

Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots' This is How We Do Things in the Country (the best link I could find; skip the chatter at the end)
Pretty much anything by o'death, but start with Busted Old Church and Only Daughter (same link)
Have you listened to Gogol Bordello?

*Dark in the sense that I really like music with banjos? I dunno.

Hey! That Handsome Devil is my friend's band, it's so cool to see this post!

They're actually not a Rockabilly/Psychobilly band at all, more like a hip hop/rock band. Difficult to categorize for sure. If you like music in the style of that song, you might like Southern Culture on the Skids a lot, or The Cramps, perhaps, would be a good place to start. Another New England band (also affiliated with Harmonix and Rock Band) is The Amazing Crowns, although they broke up a long while ago.

OMG! Ditto on the Amazing Crowns, pazazygeek! OP, if you like what you hear in that YouTube clip, it looks like there are two of their albums for download on Amazon.

GABBY LALA. Can't recommend her enough. Produced by les claypool of primus. May want to check out his work and friends/groups he tours with for more odd bands. Aesop Rock if you want more rap.

I have the same problem with pandora and the tiger lillies or slim cessna auto club, who also have a song valled this is how we do things in the country.

Prez-o-dent was one of those guitar hero bonus songs that grew on me the more tired I became of all the really fun songs. Easily attainable bands you might like atom and his package, recent aquabats, they might be giants.
