Where can I learn Dutch in New York?

I took it at the New School a few years ago, but don't see it offered anymore. I'm hesitant to try Berlitz because of the enormous fees, but would love to brush up on it once again. Does anyone know of other places to look? (I've looked on Craigslist and at the Netherlands Embassy).

Did you just check the embassy website or give them a call? Someone at the embassy in London was really helpful in helping me find a course (admittedly quite a few years ago).

The Michel Thomas Dutch language course on CD is a rather good introduction ... but, yeah, calling the embassy is probably a good idea.

New York City Dutch Language Meetup Group
There may be another one specifically aimed at Nederlanders, but I didn't check too deeply. Also check other social networking things that have meetings.

Instead of calling the Embassy in DC, call the Consulate General in New York. They are more local, perhaps have their own classes (who knows), and almost definitely have a mailing list for events that you want to be on.
