What was this Star Wars convention film I saw?

Seeking name/link for early Star Wars fan film. Tie fighters in Manhattan!
In the early 80's. I'm going to guess 1982, I went to my first science fiction convention in Boston. The guest of honor at this Creation run event was Walter Koenig. I walked around a corner and found a group of people sitting/standing around watching a 16mm film about Tie Fighters swooping in and around buildings in Manhattan. I suspect around the offices of Starlog magazine. (Are they even in NYC?) They may have even fired a few rounds into the buildings.
What in the world was I watching and is it online?
