She got away by not swimming, I think?

NancyDrewFilesFilter: The one where she's pushed into a tank with a Great! White! Shark! I can't remember the title, and the sites I've found that list all the titles in the series don't include summaries.

I would love to read it again, if I can get my hands on it, and step one is determining the correct title. Thanks, Nancy Drew aficionados.

This is maybe a little bit thin, but check out this search result.

The snip of text for the third result (How Nancy Drew Saved My Life) reads "...ing the shark in #56, the final book in the original series". Seems reasonably likely that this is what you're talking about.

Might it be Never Say Die ?

After Nancy's friend, George, takes up bicycle racing, she is a victim of nasty attacks. When Nancy steps in she discovers a complicated mystery which includes a million dollar treasure and a shark.

Aha, I think it's actually Trouble in Tahiti.

Check out this search.

The snippet of text here is "And the great white shark was headed straight her way. Suddenly Nancy's gaze zeroed in on an empty tool locker. She drifted toward it slowly and ...", from page 145.

That has to be it.

Google is awesome.

I think the ". . .ing the shark" is actually, "jumpING the shark" and probably not what you're after.

Would you recognize it from the dust jacket? If so, check the Nancy Drew page at Series Books For Girls. If you don't recognize it you could ask Jennifer of Series Books, I bet she'd know or be able to find out.
