WordPress Theme

I need help finding a WordPress theme!

We like the functionailty of this site: www.lessloss.com.

We really like:

1. Persistent navigation on the right.

However, we are pushing 60 products, while LessLoss only has 5 or 6. So, we would like the navigation on the right to expand like a directory for each category of products.

TIA for any insight!

Are you insisting on WordPress? IMO, WordPress is better suited for blogs, not for selling stuff. You might want to consider a Joomla framework, too.

Response by poster: We looked at Joomla, but it doesn't have near the amount of themes or plug-ins available as WordPress.

Are you planning on using a certain plugin for e-commerce? I'd recommend a Thematic or Hybrid child theme, if you have someone who can tweak the design for you. They are both frameworks, so they have a strong base to build off of.

I'd check to see if your shop plugin has any recommended themes that suit your needs.

Response by poster: Apparently what we really need is an "accordion" type of navigation...

I do and have done web stuff w/ both joomla and wordpress, from blogs to community groups to ecommerce junk. I absolutely guarantee that joomla has everything (and more) you could possibly, possibly want from a site selling 50-60 items. Faster/better forums for support too, imo. I really like several of the joomla based shopping cart/ecommerce plugins, HOWEVER wordpress is sooooooooo much more n00b friendly, in every single possible way.

That said-
*The last time I asked a wordpress question here when I got stuck on someone else's dirty wordpress code, I got referred to the sandbox theme. It is rawsome in every regard, and it will help you learn while you use it. It's not what you want it to be, but you can make it what you want it to be pretty fast.
*I'm a big fan of rentacoder, and I recommend it here often. Posting a job there is simple, and you can set a hard deadline for a fast turnaround.
*If you're feeling saucy, just wade through the free wordpress template sites like wordpressthemesbase.com, lots allow searching by criteria. Be forewarned that you'll be dealing with chopping up someone else's code, which sometimes gets a little hairy.

rawsome is a combination of "rad" and "awesome", and denotes something so very raw and awesome that your brain just trembles as it comprehends the veriawessomelitude before it.

I'd concentrate more on what plugin you're going to use for e-commerce, followed by a theme to work with that plugin, and then the menu last. It shouldn't be too difficult to get a Javascript based accordion script to work with any Wordpress theme.
