If only my RC cars had that sort of range

For the past few years I've been trying to remember the name of a movie I saw as a kid. The only scene I remember involved a group of kids trapped and hanging inside a net and one of the kids using his remote control helicopter to chop down the net.

Nobody I've asked has remembered it, and I'm getting tired of the memory surfacing at odd times (like right now, while staring at code) and bugging me.

I'm pretty sure it's a movie most of us my age (late 20s) saw growing up on TV. If I remember correctly, the helicopter had to travel a decent distance to get to the net and I was pretty incredulous that it could manage that without the "pilot" seeing what he was doing. I think the kids were inside a cave or tunnel.

At this point I'm afraid I've made up too many details of the movie in trying to remember what it is. I'm almost positive about the net and the remote control helicopter.

Please help me put this to rest!

I think I remember this but I can't seem to find anything about it either. I want to say the group of kids were kinda like the group of kids in the movie Goonies, but that's not where this memory is from.

Best answer: 1986 - Little Spies? It has a remote control helicopter in it. From that same thread, but made in 1993, there is a Home Alone ripoff called Remote.

Response by poster: @soelo, you might be right - it meets another of my details I forgot to add:

http://movies.msn.com/movies/movie-synopsis/little-spies/
Originally telecast as a two-hour episode of ABC's Wonderful World of Disney anthology, Little Spies gets under way when a bunch of kids lose their adopted dog to the mean owner of a puppy kennel. Enter Jimmy the Hermit (Mickey Rooney), a reclusive WW2 hero who takes a shine to the youngsters. Harking back to his wartime experiences, Jimmy organizes the neighborhood kids into a "commando raid" of the kennel to rescue the pooch. The main characters are direct from the standard Disney stereotype manual, right down to the nerdish kid with glasses and the funny fat one. Little Spies first aired on October 5, 1986. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Pretty much all of the movies I watched at that time were on the Friday Wonderful World of Disney show, so that's has a really good chance of being it.

I really thought this one was the mentioned Remote. But after watching The ending of "Remote" (check 5:10) I have to say it was probably the other movie.
