Trying to ID an obscure laughter song

What is the "laughter song" in this Spongebob video at 1:40 - 1:49? This is part of the original episode, not added by the YT user. I have heard this tune frequently over the past 25 years in various network programs for anything considered "funny", usually in bloopers and slapstick, and have never been able to identify it.

Response by poster: Oh geez, I should have read the damn comments. Well, I did, and I found it: The Big Laugh - Jürgen Schlachter. Not sure if that's the original source, but there it is. Oh well, burned my question for this week.

Sounds like it might have been inspired by The Laughing Policeman a bit.
