Is there an IM client that will allow voice chat from behind a firewall? I can change my settings but the person I'm trying to talk to is sitting behind a Linksys router with default firewall settings and is unwilling to let me change them.

I use skype for VoIP, and it can pretty much work though anything you throw at it. Works fine with my Linksys router with no port forwarding. It has IM features as well (text chat, file transfer).

yeah. I agree with mrgavins--try skype. I use it behind a VERY restrictive university firewell. In fact, it's one of the few IM clients that can even make it through by default.

third for skype (in fact last time this came up, i realised i should be worried about how easily it goes through my firewall - at some point i must check how it works...)
