Is there a way to get a Google Voice / Google Grand Central Account?

I know they are unavailable right now and I signed up to get an invite, but is there a way to get a Google Voice / Google Grand Central account?

Would I have to get someone who doesn't use it? Or maybe buy it? This post says that InviteShare is a good way, but its a 2 year old post...any new suggestions?

It looks like you can buy a number off eBay, but all the old GrandCentral invite links, where you could choose your own number, are dead. I had one in my e-mail from awhile back but it no longer works.

Best answer: Outside of ebay, I don't think there's any way to get one. (To my knowledge, current members haven't gotten invites to give out in a long time. At least I haven't.) I think your best bet is to give them your email here and wait for them to start expanding google voice. That used to be the best way to get a grand central invite.

I dont see any invite links within. Also, I don't think you can use someone elses, it appears to be linked to your google account.

I used to have a dozen or so invites but Google has taken that down. I wish I had known there was an Ebay market for them before they did that, oh well. I think the only way to get an account is to get on the list.

By the way, I have a Grand Central Account and it hasn't yet been updated to Google Voice, if that relieves your anxiety in anyway.

thanks for the sympathy, but you will eventually get one and I still wont have one....

ebay seems to be the best bet for now

Let me expand: once Google updates all its Grand Central accounts, I am almost certain that they will either do an early-Gmail-like invitation scheme, or just open it up to everybody.
