Firefox crashes Maybe Skype 4.0?

Since upgrading to Skype 4.0 Firefox has started to crash, frequently, without Skype open. Is Skype the cause? What shall I do to avoid the crashing? BTW, I am not too nimble at computer wizardry, need basic advice. Tnx.
I'd guess it's an add-on problem. After I recently upgraded my Firefox, it started crashing on me all the time--at first I thought it was some kind of incompatibility with Winamp (similar situation: Firefox often crashed while winamp was running, but sometimes even when it wasn't). After I read a few other tips and disabled the Firefox Winamp toolbar addon, no more crashes.
Look at disabling other media player-type addons if disabling the Skype specific one doesn't do it.

It's definitely the Skype add-on. I had the same problem. Disable/uninstall it and you'll be fine.
