Somewhere to buy nice candles in Manhattan?

I had to miss a good friend's birthday because I'm in New York. She loves candles. I'd like to get her some nice candles as a gift. Where should I be going for the best (reasonably-priced) candle experience Manhattan has to offer?

I've had this sitting in my bookmarks for ages, so I'm not sure if it's kept updated, but the CandleshopsUSA list has about a dozen listed in Manhattan.

Gracious Home at 67th and Broadway has a good selection of candles.

Yelp is THE go-to site for user reviews of shops & restaurants in NYC.

This time of year there's a sort of holiday mini mall at the southern end of Union Square with all sorts of hand crafted stuff.

Response by poster: Meant to update this sooner - sadly, while JaredSeth's list looked excellent, the two shops I tried to visit from it didn't seem to exist any more, so I think it's fairly out of date. In the end, the Sabon on 6th Ave in Greenwich Village served my needs perfectly - cheers, The Whelk! The candles were greeted with much glee by the recipient...
