Wake Up Fun

Looking for a streaming radio station, or podcast that has upbeat music, funny samples and dj's, so I can laugh first thing in the morning during my morning routine. But here's the rub, I'm not looking for comedy shows, or vapid commentary. Something a little more tasteful and subtle than your run of the mill morning crap that pollutes the airwaves and makes me depressed about humanity.

Well, this is probably too "comedy show" for your tastes, and can certainly be walking that edge of tasteless, but You Look Nice Today consistently makes me laugh. Even in the morning.

It's only about a half-hour long and only comes out every other week or so, so you'll need to find something else to populate your mornings with, too. Just a thought.

Sean Cullen had a brilliant radio show on CBC over the summer. I generally dislike comedy shows, but Sean is something else. I will have to root around for a podcast (is there one?)

I second You Look Nice Today. It's spot on with regard to funny, tasteful* & subtle. But there's no music to speak of.

*I guess this is subjective.

Musicwise Morning Becomes Eclectic is great, with upbeat NEW pop, world beat, jazz, African, reggae, classical music.
