Seeking Techno-Hindu chant music.

CDsearch!Filter: I was browsing the world section of the local indie record store a couple years ago, and they had an artist who put Hindu chants to these nifty techno beats. Sound familiar? [more to the inside]

It was really down-tempo, great chillout music. I remember hearing a lot of mentions of Krishna, although I don't think that will probably narrow it down any. It had a white label on top with a picture of a Hindu statue that I presume was Krishna.

Kula Shaker did quite alot of that, only with a more indie guitar esque vibe to it.

Their second album, Peasants, pigs and astronauts is especially good.

Not exactly Hindu, but some of Gabrielle Roth's work is very similar -- I really like Refuge, which is Tibetan chant set to nice laid-back trance music.

Bhagavan Das and Krishna Das is the chanting without the techno beat.

Similar stuff could be Cornershop, but I don't think that's what you heard in the store. Either Woman's Gotta Have It or When I Was Born For the Seventh Time. 6:00am Jullander Shere and its 7:20am variant are both quite good.
