Looking for overnight parking in Pittsburgh. I'm staying five nights at a downtown hotel; I'm cheap, and I don't want to pay $18 per night to park. Are there any cheaper alternatives? I'm willing to walk.

Spring Break just started for my girlfriend and I, and we're having trouble coming up with things to do. I live in Pittsburgh, and we've thought about checking out the city, but I'm not sure where to go (Other than the Waterfront or Squirrel Hill, which aren't that exciting). We'd also like to visit someplace nice in Pennsylvania or Ohio for a few days, but having not lived here for long I'm not quite sure where to go. We're looking to spend no more than a couple hundred dollars. Any ideas?

Next Monday I'm driving my friend to 3000 Sidney St., Pittsburgh, for her citizenship test. The Mapquest and Yahoo maps make this area look like terra incognita. Any advice on where we can park free, eat lunch, and where I can hang out nearby while waiting for her? I don't know the name of the neighborhood, but we cross the river on Hot Metal Street, if that's a clue.
