Looking for a hotel recommendation in Pittsburgh... preferable near Pitt.

I got a job interview next week in Pittsburgh and would like to find a good, reasonably priced hotel that will put me as close to the University of Pittsburgh as possible. Anyone have a recommendation?

Best answer: There's the Holiday Inn Select at University Center within spitting distance of the Cathedral of Learning. Don't know if it falls within your "reasonably priced" standards, though.

Response by poster: Reasonable enough! Thanks for the tip!

If everything goes well I'm sure I'll have a ton of other Pittsburgh questions soon enough!

Whyndam Gardens on Forbes is right there too.

Hm, there's a hotel in Oakland where my parents always stay when they visit me. It's plenty convenient and I believe it's cheap. It's in the same lot with a Panera Bread. I think it's a Best Western. I found this one with google, but I'm not sure if that's it. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

Greentree Road's definitely not Oakland. I'm not familiar with the hotel you're talking about, but the one you linked to doesn't look like it.

Ludwig_van's hotel is, I think, Quality Inn University Center and it is pretty close to Pitt too.
