Looking for a good old fashioned Fish Shack in Florida.

You know the type...been around for eleventy billion years....All the fish is caught fresh that day by some dude named Hank and cooked up right then for you. We are staying in Kissimmee and then meeting someone in Daytona (midway-is between our place and Jacksonville) and then traveling south along the coast. Anywhere in those locations would be swell. Have suggestions? [more inside]

Quiet, non-lux living along the Mediterranean this summer: where to?

My wife and I would like to rent a simple furnished apartment or small house somewhere along the Mediterranean this summer, for about a month. We just want a place where we can do some writing and go swimming every day. The catch is that we don't have much more than 500€ or so to pay for rent. Seeking recommendations for countries, specific islands, towns or villages, or website recommendations! [more inside]

Club Med?

Help with finding a vacation destination like Hawaii, but in the Mediterranean... there is just way too much information to filter through on the internet! We're an active, adventurous couple looking for a beachy, but equally as important, ACTIVE escape in early May for seven days! Restrictions: needs to be within a reasonable ~5 hour flight from Moscow, Russia. [more inside]

Disney World: Stay on or off the property?

Thinking about taking the youngins to Disney World in June. Daughter will be 11 and it will be her second trip. Son will be 4 1/2 - first time for him. Last time, we stayed at a Disney property: rode the shuttle buses, swam in the myriad pools, drank $2 cokes, etc. This time, cash flow is more of an issue so I'm looking at Kissimmee hotels. Just wondering, though, if the low price is worth losing the on-site amenities and convenience. Been there? Done that?
