Looking for unique/unconventional/avant-garde Tatto Artists in Tokyo

I'm visiting Tokyo for the first time this summer and I'd like to look into the possibility of getting a tattoo while I'm there. I'll be near Shinjuku and Shibuya but I'm willing to take a train ride for the right opportunity. [more inside]

Movies with very competent protagonists - difficulty level: no violence.

I am in the mood for a movie or series with an ultra-competent, good-at-their-job protagonist. Difficulty level: no violence, gore, or grave injustice (not even injustice that's overcome in the end). I have seen this question but I'm looking for more and slightly different examples. [more inside]

Have any science fiction stories been set in humanities departments?

What science fiction stories, short form or novels, have been set in university humanities departments, excluding satires? I’ll settle for stories where some of the principal characters are scholars of the humanities.

What is this kind of frame called?

I dig the frame on this picture. More specifically, I like its octagonal shape and how it kinda resembles an early CRT tube. I would like to shop online for a similar thing and am wondering if this style has a name that will help me search?

Find that song!

This is a tough one! I heard this song at a party in France. The French and other European people seemed to know it well; I’d never heard of it. [more inside]

A friend's celebration of their 23rd anniversary includes a quiet movie night at home. They have some favorite standbys they've already seen, but I wondered if the hive mind might have any great suggestions. [more inside]

Can you help me identify this artist?

Okay, this painter is a male, middle aged or older. I believe they are living in Paris but are American and their paintings look like candid snapshots, the paint seems to have a bit of “flash” but where you can’t quite see the subjects faces because they’re blurred. Lots are of nightlife in the 80’s I think…. Does this ring a bell? [more inside]

What's your favorite video of cherry blossom petals falling?

I'd love to see a calming video of cherry petals falling. I'd prefer no special effect (no slow motion), definitely no AI or generated imagery, ideally no people. Still camera is better than panning. Slow random meditative occasional petals are better than big gusts of petals. I will turn off the sound so audio is unimportant. Thanks!

What song is this, and was it in Arrested Development?

I just noticed that the song in this scene of Grey's Anatomy makes me immediately think of Arrested Development. Was it actually used there? I feel like it was one of their themes for pratfalls. For that matter, what's it called? Thanks!

Best of ‘Included in your (Audible) subscription’?

What is the best content on audible that is included with a standard subscription? So far, for example, I have found the complete Sherlock Holmes read by Stephen Fry, and a handful of shorts set in METAtropolis by some of my favorite authors, a couple Scalzis, the first Murderbot. What else should I look at (har har). Outstanding reader and outstanding content both welcome.

Action/comedy where ordinary woman is swept into adventure

Lately I’ve enjoyed the movies Argylle, Spy, and The Lost City. I think part of what I like is that they’re witty action/comedies that involve ordinary, likeable women going about their routine lives who are then suddenly swept into espionage or adventure. Can you recommend similar non-sexist action/comedies that I might like? [more inside]
