There is a piano piece during the opening credits of Amélie. No, it is not the famous one. Links to listening samples and more after the jump.
There is a piano piece during the opening credits of Amélie. Here is a link to a YouTube video of the opening credits with the music.
What is this piece?
No, it is not the famous one, Comptine d'un Autre Été, even though all my research points back to the famous piece, incorrectly.
I have listened to the entire soundtrack, and the piece from the opening credits isn't there, unless it's re-arranged for other instrumentation and changed tempo, style, and meter (which some of the other pieces do in difference from the movie) beyond what I can recognize.
(P.S. I haven't been to this site since 2021 after being a regular for over a decade, yikes!)

Best answer: Shazam says it’s La Dispute as well. Welcome back, TinWhistle!

Response by poster: Wow, that was fast. That's why I love this site: I research off and on for a few hours over a few days and get nothing. I write something here, and people know within minutes.
I didn't even think of Shazam, but I am closer to 50yo now, so I don't think of those things...but my kids didn't think of Shazam, either, so shame on them. ;)
