Interesting spots in the Destin FL area?

We're vacationing in the Fort Walton Beach/Destin FL area in early August. I'm looking for some fun, and/or interesting places to visit outside of your run of the mill tourist activities. Are there any locals or frequent visitors that may have some suggestions?

Best answer: I've always enjoyed the Blue Parrot restaurant at St George Island (not to mention camping in the park side of the island).

I haven't been to the Howl at the Moon in Destin, but the one in NOLA was a blast. It's a sing-along piano bar. Way more fun than a regular old bar.

Must eat at the Donut Hole in Destin, the one closest to the bridge. Also another good place is Gilligan's. You can set on the back deck overlooking Destin Harbor - very nice at sunset.
Be very aware of the sun. If you're not used to it, you can get cooked _very_ quickly.
But in any case enjoy.
