Assuming one has a land-line phone, does anyone know of a way to pump both phone and computer audio though the same headset?

Response by poster: Unfortunately, a lot of the links in that previous askme are dead and not all product names were mentioned.

Let me clarify what I would like to do.

Right now, I work at home. I use a landline for calls and my computer sounds are external. I would like to use one headset for both. Switching the headset to a cell phone would be a big plus from time to time. Maybe the connector on a cell phone and phone are the same? Hmmm...

Don't know if it's a standard, but I've used a 2.5 mm stereo/mic jack'ed headset with FRS radios, a motorola cell phone, and a home 2.4ghz wireless phone...

Response by poster: Well, the big problem with using my current headset in the computer is the plugs aren't the same and the mic is separate from the earphones.

That's not a big problem. There are plenty of standard headset to computer converters out there for cheap.

If your headset doesn't use a standard 2.5" jack, if you could provide information on the the type of jack or the model of you headset, as well as the type of jack on your phone or the model of the phone, I'm completely sure the MeFites will be able to find you an adapter or adapters that will fit the bill.

Response by poster: How can I tell what my current headset jack is? Is the 2.5" measurement the length or the circumference?

Let's say that it's all 2.5". Does that mean I would ALSO need some sort of splitter so that the headset also plugs into the phone? So, I have the converter and a splitter?
