In Ontario, are high schools supposed to charge a fee when they issue student transcripts? I've asked the guidance office of my old school for two transcripts. One is for a post-secondary application. The other is for myself. Is the guidance secretary just trying to screw me outta $20 so she can fix her nose-candy at lunch?

$10/apiece sounds pretty much right. Wait till you graduate college, those transcripts are closer to $25/50 apiece.

Yeah, they can charge you a fee. I have friends who had to pony up that kind of money in Ontario. In Saskatchewan, where I'm from, it's $5/each, if I recall correctly (or at least it used to be). My university transcripts are $10/each, which is annoying when I need to get multiple copies.

I went to high school and college in Ontario. I paid $5.00 for each high school transcript, and $10 for transcripts for my undergraduate institution.

Best answer: I teach at an Ontario high school. We charge $15.

Wow man, Canada is expensive. My school only charges a buck or two and you get the first one free. But then, I'm a current student. I don't know what they charge for former students.
