Does direct bus/mass transit service from NJ to Brooklyn or Queens exist?

Is there any *direct* bus/van/shared ride service between New Jersey and either Brooklyn or Queens?

I'm wondering if there is any *direct* bus/van/shared ride service between New Jersey and either Brooklyn or Queens. Something that doesn't involve a switch in Manhattan (although it could make stops there).

I have this suspicion that there must be SOME sort of private bus company that offers this, but I can't find anything.

Barring that, I also would be interested in a bus from NJ to Manhattan, whose stop in Manhattan was somewhere above Canal St. and below 14th St. (like a local Chinatown bus).

As for originating points in NJ, I'm interested in Newark and anywhere else on the NJ Transit NE Corridor line (Elizabeth, Linden, Rahway, Metuchen, Edison, New Brunswick, Princeton)

The only NJ-to-Queens services I know of go to JFK (and possibly LGA), and they're really expensive.

My guess is that you're not going to find much of anything without a transfer, because most people coming in from New Jersey don't go past Manhattan, and neither do most people from Brooklyn or Queens.

I don't know any details, but it might be worth looking at services from New Jersey to or through Staten Island. If nothing else, I would imagine that you might be able to change in Staten Island for a Brooklyn bus and thus avoid Manhattan completely.

To Brooklyn/Queens: Anywhere in either boro.
