Does anyone know of a site that can provide me with SparkNotes-like information on the novel: The Razor's Edge by W. Somerset Maugham? If not then perhaps one of you MetaFilter members will be willing to share some information on the book :] Much thanks!

There are two film adaptations of it, one from 1946 with Tyrone Power and another from 1984 with Bill Murray. Haven't seen the former, enjoyed the latter some years ago. Netflix has both.

Definitely seconding reading this book. It's a real favorite of mine, one I come back to every decade or so, and get more out of each time. And the Bill Murray movie was fantastic, and I thought very faithful to the tenor of the book. I've never found a book guide to be in the slightest accurate or useful.

Response by poster: I did read it; I just skipped the section about India because it had no relevance to my topic. Thanks for all your responses!
