Tax credit across the border?

Can Canadians give tax-deductible donations to American non-profit organizations?
If a Canadian gives money to a registered non-profit (501c3) organization in the US, is that money tax deductible on their Canadian tax return?
Thanks!

Yes. I give to my alma mater (US college) every year and have been claiming it ever since I emigrated. There is (or was, have to ask my accountant since I don't do my own taxes) a specific entry for donations to US charities on the tax return.
